Computational Fluid Dynamics

Multibody Dynamics

Multibody Dynamics predicts the dynamic behavior of an assembly in motion, where forces may be applied to one or more rigid bodies that are connected to each other through kinematic constraints or contacts. It uses rigid bodies to perform a transient analysis, which allows you to obtain results quickly. The use of flexible bodies provides more accurate results for many applications because the vibration and structural damping of the flexible bodies are included in the simulation.

LS DYNA is optimized for shared and distributed memory Unix, Linux, and Windows based, platforms, and it is fully QA'd by LSTC. The code's origins lie in highly nonlinear, transient dynamic finite element analysis using explicit time integration.

Multi-physics Simulations

Multi-physics simulations combine various simulation solvers together to obtains answers which are not possible using each tool independently. Common examples of this type of analysis are fluid-structural interaction (FSI) and integrating control systems with multi-body simulation. As the number of solvers included in an analysis increases the technical expertise required to obtain meaningful results also increases. Our experts are well versed in combining multi-body, FEA, CFD, controls, and optimization solvers to deliver unique insights to our customers.

Generative Design / Topology Optimization

Generative design is a process. Designers and engineers specify design goals into the generative design software, with parameters such as performance or spatial requirements, materials, manufacturing methods, and cost constraints. The software explores all the possible permutations of a solution, quickly generating design alternatives. It tests and learns from each iteration what works and what doesn’t.
